Franka and the flowers
Franka, our point and shoot aluminium camera from 1958, detects all the plants in the City, wherever they hide.

Only in Liguria, North-West coast of Italy, are the Christ bearers, gathered in congregations or "casacce". Strong men who carry in the processions heavy crucifixes and processional cabinets. A tradition that has its roots in the Middle Ages, with the formation of early congregations that dealt with religious rites and carried out social and humanitarian functions.
Here, for the Patron Saint Day San Giovanni Battista, the procession reached the sea where the Archbishop blessed the port and the ships.

The rising sun

Is it the house of the rising sun, or just a mirage? Franka was made in Bayreuth, Germany. But I don't associate her with Wagner...she is more like Sibelius or Shostakovich or Bob Dylan...

The Library

Slow photography, snail mail and patience
You are invited to join Franka on her journey around the world. Franka is a camera from 1958 or 1965 (?), simple and cheap. It is loaded with 120 film.
The journey will start this week and it will go on for perhaps as much as two years. I have not equipped Franka with a GPS or something similar - this is slow photography, snail mail and above all patience.
